Reflections on Communion in One Kind

  1. “The Eucharist is a whole service, not just one part of something larger. In the prayers of God’s people, in the reading of Scripture, in the sermon, and in Communion, Christ is present. My job is to encounter him there and not to locate him solely in bread or wine.”

Yes, and Amen. 🙂 My current context serving as a missionary in Hungary involves inviting many faith backgrounds to receive & celebrate the Eucharist as we worship. It’s a great reminder that no matter how they’re comfortable responding to the invitation, the important thing is an opening of response to receive & be thankful. As a Wesleyan at heart – the “means of grace” are always to be graciously offered.
